Rooted in Community. Built by Women.

Supporting traditional and rural women to move from stewardship to entrepreneurship.

GIO Living Lab is a restoration venture studio working at the intersection of ecology, culture, and community livelihoods. We design and test place-based solutions that strengthen ecological and social resilience, and we translate them into ventures that communities can own and sustain.

Our work is rooted in lived landscapes, farms, forests, wetlands, and coastal ecosystems where traditional knowledge, especially women’s knowledge, has long protected nature but rarely been valued economically.

Our Mission

To build ecological and community resilience by transforming restoration into living enterprises, centering traditional women as custodians, producers, and entrepreneurs across land and water systems.

Through GIO Living Lab, we generate shared learning, trust, and systems insight; through Nebedaí, we turn that knowledge into viable businesses that regenerate forests, farms, wetlands, and coastal ecosystemswhile securing dignified livelihoods for women and their communities.

Our Vision

A future where restored ecosystems are the foundation of thriving local economies, and where traditional women are recognized as leaders of agroecology, forest stewardship, and the blue economy.
We envision landscapes where:
Mangroves are protected through women-led oyster economies
Forests regenerate through community-owned value chains
Food systems are rooted in indigenous knowledge and care
Restoration is not charity, but a shared economic and cultural asset
